Sleek MakeUp Mattes Dark Palette

I first fell in love with the Sleek MakeUp Ultra Matte palette in V2 or Dark after seeing this look created with it. And then again after seeing this tutorial.

I think this is a great palette for all skin tones. You can create many smokey eye looks with it, for sure!

The pigmentation is excellent and the texture is pretty smooth but slightly leaning towards the chalky side of things.

Since Sleek isn't sold in Canada (boo!) my wonderful friend bought this palette for me when she was visiting the UK (yay!).

If you don't happen to have an awesomely generous friend visiting the UK anytime soon then you can find Sleek makeup on Ebay.

Maybe I'll put my own look up using this palette?

Manicure of the Moment

I LOVE holographic nail polish!! It mesmerizes me quite honestly.

I got the inspiration for this manicure from this LeighAnnSays tutorial except I used some nail guides I already had instead of tape. The triangles didn't turn out as pointy as I would have liked so next time it's tape for me!

I used a Wet n' Wild polish in 2% Milk for the base (about three coats) and Colour Club's Nude Holographic polish. That polish is amazing, one coat to make your holographic dreams come true!

Cute Top Shop Finds

Skulls and spikes go together like chocolate and peanut butter.

I love this ring set! It goes nicely with the spike earring cuff, too.

I've been lusting after earring cuffs for a while and when I got this one for Christmas I was so pleased! The only downside is that it doesn't come with a matching stud for the other ear. But I love it and for now it satisfies my urge to get another piercing ;)

Misa Well Heeled Grey

This beautiful nail polish is Misa "Well Heeled Grey." It's a gorgeous purple-y grey with darker purple, red and blue shimmer. It applies wonderfully - I applied 2 coats for the pictures but I could have gotten away with one. It appears to be a dupe for Chanel Paradoxal (but much cheaper - I picked this up at Trade Secrets on a Buy One Get One Sale!). With all that said, it's not really my kind of colour. It's gorgeous but to my personal taste. I switched up the manicure the following day with a glitter gradient.

OPI in Rally Pretty Pink

Flash

This is such a gorgeous nail polish! Where do I begin? It's the definition of a duochrome - sometimes gold, sometimes pink, and sometimes purple-y. I absolutely love it. It's not the newest polish around (from the Serena Collection) but it's going to be a mainstay in my collection. It applied easily in two thin coats and dried relatively quickly. I also snagged this from Trade Secrets on Buy One Get One Free. Yay for sales!

If you can't get your hands on this OPI, Zoya Faye is completely identical.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendevouz

I've been wanting to try a Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain (longest name for a lip product ever?!) for quite some time now.

I picked up the orange shade in Rendevouz. It's nice to have an orange colour for summer and often (but not always) looks best that time of year.

It has the crayon tip to it which is different. From the reviews I've read, people always say this makes it easier to apply than the regular lipstick shape but I tend to disagree. I find you have to be a lot more precise when drawing on your balm.

So here it is on my lips. What I like most about these balms is that you determine the intensity of the colour, in other words, they are very buildable. I have applied two swipes.

It provides a nice shine as well and I appreciate the minty scent.

At first I wasn't too sure about the colour, I've never had an orange lipstick before. It has grown on me and I think it's a nice change. It will definitely look best on me in the summer though.

The above picture is after two hours. In that time I just drank water and smacked my lips together as I read for school. I don't know why but whenever I have a lip gloss or balm on my lips I tend to smack my lips together like every two seconds.

So, the stain is left. It kind of looks like I have Cheetos dust all on my bottom lip but I think that's just the nature of the colour. I clearly associate the colour orange with Cheetos. But it promised a stain and I got one so I'm pleased.

I'm excited to try the purple colour Darling next!

Manicure of the Moment

Check out these super fun nails!!

Prior to 2012 I would paint my nails every now and then but never took the time to do any sort of nail art. When we purchased a Konad stamping set I started to get into the groove. You could call Konad my gateway into nail art.

I had some weird notion in my head that doing my nails took too much time away from my studies but that's just crazy. If anything, nail art makes every day more exciting and breaks up the monotony of school, haha.

Especially when you have an alien on your thumb nail!

This is a sort of mismatch of nail designs and I love it. I must say one of my favourites is the pink leopard design and it's soo simple. I followed this tutorial.

The colours I used were:
Thumb - Butter London - Slapper
Index Finger - OPI - Mermaid Tears and Colour Club - Wish Upon a Rockstar
Middle Finger - China Glaze - Hang Ten Toes and a Sally Hansen Black
Ring Finger - OPI - Pinking of You, OPI - Over the Taupe, and Sally Hansen Black
Pinky Finger - China Glaze - Reggae to Riches and China Glaze - Full Spectrum
