Guest Post from Polished Pathology: Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Ella Ann Cosmetics Store Exclusive Swatch and Review

Caitlin here: I am SO stoked to have Jenne from Polished Pathology on the blog today! Enjoy :)

Hey guys! Today I am part of a fun idea called 'The Switching Post'! It is the bran child of Boomshakalacquer, where a group of bloggers get together and switch posts! Today I am switching with this lovely gal, and I couldn't be more excited! A little bit about me: I'm in my early 30's and am working as a Pathologists' Assistant. That's where my name comes from, my love for beauty products and pathology! I live with my boyfriend and dog in the frigid tundra of Minnesota, but we do get outside a few days a year when it hits above 50 ;) I have a pretty amazing life, and blogging is a fun outlet for me to explore my love of beauty products! Ok, let's get to the polishes! :)

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - Pink Sugar Sunsets + KBShimmer - Dust in the Bottle

I love short pink nails. Maybe I'm biased but blogs are about opinions and this is mine. At first I was worried that Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Pink Sugar Sunsets would be the wrong kind of pink for my skin tone but I was wrong. It looks so cute on my nails! I added KBShimmer Dust in the Bottle because I've been adding it to every mani lately so why not!

2 coats plus top coat. Great wear. Beautiful colour.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - Grandpa

I'm always on the hunt for the perfect white polish. Grandpa from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer is a white polish with gorgeous gold and pink flakies. This polish is so pretty and unique.

In terms of application, I used 3 coats plus top coat. I am not sure why this polish gave me such difficulty. I am hoping that next time a base coat (perhaps a ridge-filling one) will help with the application so I don't end up needing so many coats. I really want to love this polish so I might even try thinning it a little. I wish my photos could have captured the amazing flakies!

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Innocence in the Moment Collection {My Picks}

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer has been knocking it out of the park with her collections lately! I love that she's making smaller collections. It helps out the old wallet ;)

Innocence in the Moment is the name of her latest collection and I purchased 3 of the 4 polishes to share with you today!

First up is I Only Meant to Stay a While, an emerald green jelly with micro holographic glitters in red, green, silver, blue, and purple. LOVE THIS ONE THE MOST. It dries a little gritty so a thick layer of top coat makes it super glossy and smooth. 2 coats.

Basking in the Storm is an amethyst purple creme with blue and aqua shimmers. I really love this purple but it's not my cup of tea. I used 2 coats plus top coat.

Lastly is Chasing the Skyline which is a royal blue creme with rainbow iridescent microglitters and rainbow iridescent flakies. I really, really wished the flakies stood out more. It's a super cool polish but just not what I was hoping for based on the description.

Overall my favorite is I Only Meant to Stay a While. I mean, I really love it. I will wear it again and again.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - Snowbunny Siren

Another Siren for you! I want to get this over with since, you know, snow is not something I want to speak/think/dream of ANYMORE!

Nonetheless, this polish is so so so gorgeous even though it's name references the dreaded snow which I do not want to see anymore of for at least 10 months! This is an amazing baby blue holo with silver flakies. I am wearing 2 coats with top coat and it's a stunner!

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - Prim and Proper Siren

This is quite literally the most unique polish I have worn in a loooong time. I like the way that the flakies glow green through the lilac jelly base. This polish is just so yummy and pretty! I wore 2 coats plus top coat. I probably should have used 3 but there's always next time (and I WILL be wearing this again) ;)
