Neutral Eyes and Turquoise Hair

Friday, August 30, 2013

Sometimes I forget that makeup looks using neutral tones can be just as fun to create as colourful ones. That's what I love about makeup! It's the process (choosing the colours, mixing, blending) that's really the fun part. And it doesn't hurt if it looks really nice in the end, either ;)

Matte shades on the lid and then I used a shimmery gold along the bottom lash line.

MAC False Lashes Extreme Black

Here's where I added some colour. Hehe I couldn't totally go without! At the beginning of the Summer I bleached a few strips of hair and have been changing up the colours each time one colour washes out. Other than one strip on the side of my face, most of the pieces are hidden within my hair. It makes for a little surprise when the wind blows or you've got some grungy business going on with your hair.

The dye I used here is Beyond the Zone Color Jamz Tripped Up Turquoise. This is the result after one wash. If you want really vibrant colour I don't suggest this line of hair dye. I left the colour in my hair for approximately 6 hours and the result is far from intense. It all depends on what you're looking for but for intense colour I find that Jerome Russell's Punky Colors are really fabulous. The colour is strong and last for a fairly long time. Having said that, I've only ever tried Rose Red so I don't have any personal experience with the turquoise but I'm sure it's equally as awesome.
