Hurraw! Lip Balm Review & My Picks

Friday, July 28, 2017

I was introduced to Hurraw! lip balms by my lovely nail polish (and real life) friend Natalie in 2014. It was either Chai Spice or Earl Grey that I first tried and now I'm hooked. I've been slowly trying all the varieties and wanted to share a few of my favorites with you today.

First, a little bit about Hurraw! Lip Balm (in their own words)... "Hurraw! Balm started out of pure intent; an obsession to create the perfect balm: truly natural, vegan, made from premium raw and organic ingredients. It also had to meet some tough criteria. To ensure the quality and integrity of our product, we individually pour each tube of Hurraw! balm in our own facility. Our priority is to make Hurraw! the finest balm available... a great product to be used by everyone regardless of lifestyle. Let's put the concept ahead of the profit, the user ahead of the maker, the collective ahead of the individual."

What do I love about Hurraw!? It's vegan! and truly natural. If something is going on my lips, it should be natural and genuinely moisturizing. Hurraw! fits the bill. I have always struggled to find a lip balm that actually moisturized my lips without the rebound effect of drying them out even more. I also love that they use (post-consumer recycled material) for packaging. I also just love the shape of the tube too. It's a small quirk but I love it. The lip balms work VERY well and the scents are awesome. I want one of every "flavour."

So which are my favorite? I'd have to say... right now... Lime! It's so fresh and fruity and lime-y. Perfect for summer. The product is totally clear so you can put lipstick over top or just wear it fora nice, natural shine.

However, when I'm out in the sun I love the Hurraw! Sun Balm. I am prone to sun blisters so have to be very careful about protecting my lips and this does the trick. It has SPF 15 and the formula is a little thicker than the regular lip balm but it works well and I can even put lipstick over top without issue. It's not totally clear but pretty darn close. I highly recommend!

If I want some colour but don't want to committ to anything really I love the Black Cherry Tinted Lip Balm which has the tiniest bit of colour. It's perfect for an easy slightly reddened lip. Love!! It smells amazing too. Hurraw! really nails their scents which I appreciate.

You can purchase Hurraw! on their website or like I did at my local health food store (Nature's Emporium) and The Detox Market. There are tons of other retailers which you can find listed on the Hurraw! website.
