Colores de Carol Give Me A Sign (1990s Polish Pickup)

Friday, December 7, 2018

Britney Spears' Hit Me Baby One More Time holds a special place in my heart. I'm not sure why but there was something so alluring about Britney to my 8-year-old self. Colores de Carol decided to use the cover art for Britney Spears debut album as inspiration for the polish I'm sharing with you today. This polish was part of the 90s themed Polish Pickup (one of my favorite months to date, after the Sugar Rush theme).

Colores de Carol Give Me A Sign is described as a bright red linear holographic with a hint of pink to it, with holo dust, Aurora shimmer and UCC flakes (violet/pink/gold). This wasn't as bright of a red as I had hoped. It's more of a muted cherry. It's also pretty sheer but that does allow the flakes to come through. The Aurora is visible in certain lights and adds a nice touch. The holo is a bit weak. I wanted to like this more than I did. It is by no means a bad polish but it's just falling a bit flat for me despite all of its elements. It's still beautiful but I am being SUPER critical for some reason today.

I am wearing three coats plus top coat in my photos. Colores de Carol polishes wear really well on me and I love her formula.
