It's no secret that I love fall. It's my favorite season because of the cooler temperatures, colourful leaves and comforting scents. With that said, it makes sense that I look forward to what nail polish brands have to offer for my favorite season. The KBShimmer Up & Autumn Collection (which is available now from Canadian and International stockist Harlow & Co.) grabbed my attention the moment I saw the diverse array of finishes and colours. There truly is something for everyone in this 12-piece collection. After seeing my swatches, I think you'll agree.
KBShimmer Clothes Minded is a creamy pale tan base sets off small and extra small glitters in blue, purple, copper and brown. My photos show three coats plus top coat. The formula was very smooth and not too runny at all. I love how sparse the glitters are.
KBShimmer Free Fallin’ is a deep auburn base sets off an array of iridescent flakes that shift from hues of red to orange to gold. What a beauty! I used three coats for this one and top coat. The shift really shows in different (indirect) lighting. The formula definitely requires three coats for maximum flakeage.
KBShimmer Up & Autumn is a warm dusty cedar color cream. This not-quite-red shade is the ideal fall color with its coral and brick tones. This was almost a one coater but it needed a second to make it look like the colour in the bottle. Super smooth and fluid formula - love it! This colour is very in right now as I've noticed a variety of iterations in several fall collections.
KBShimmer Spice Things Up is a warm golden hue shifts quickly into orange, while a rich coppery red tone completes this shade’s fall vibe. This polish completely surprised me. I am wearing two coats plus top coat. The formula self-levels really well and there were no issues with streaks or anything.
KBShimmer Raking It In is a brightly-colored iridescent flakes dance in a clear base, shifting from hues of red, orange, gold, green, and at extreme angles, aqua. Wow! I am obsessed with this topper. It reminds me of the Nfu Oh days. I am wearing two coats over black. I can't wait to try this over many other (dark) bases.
KBShimmer Having A Gourd Time is a deep olive green reminiscent of gourds. A strong shimmer shifts between red, orange, gold and green for a polish that will give you all the fall feels. This polish has a perfect formula in just two coats. I love the shimmer and shift. It's way more shifty than my photos make it look. It's super gold in extreme angles.
KBShimmer Vested Interest is a multichrome shade that shifts between shades of green, teal and blue. Holo glow flakes add a touch of sparkle to this vest-inspired shade. While I've seen many multichromes in my lifetime, this one got me really excited. It's pretty unique but not as shifty as it appears in the bottle, sadly. Nonetheless, it's beautiful and perfect in two coats.
KBShimmer If You've Got It, Haunt It is a deepened navy polish that subtly shifts to shades of purple and black, with a linear holo accent. ONE COAT, BABY! This polish is supremely opaque and super saturated. I had no issues with staining either which is always a bonus. I love the holo and shift in this one.
KBShimmer Trend Sweater is a unique multichrome that starts out as a vibrant fuchsia shade. As angles and light shift, hues of rose and lavender fade into an almost golden coppery pink. Micro holo flakes complete this trendy polish look. I love a purple polish and Trend Sweater is absolute purple perfection. I am wearing two coats and the formula is divine.
KBShimmer Apple-y Ever After is a tri-thermal polish. It is a nod to this classic fall treat. A rich brown hue warms into a bright red color, then gives way to a Granny-Smith-apple-green. Micro holo glitters complete this delicious shade. I love this thermal so much! I love a good theme and the apple look is so cute. I wore three coats but two would have sufficed for me. The transition is easy but it's just hard to capture all three states on my short little nails. Super fun!
KBShimmer Twist & Stout is a deepened brown linear holo inspired by the color of porters, so deep in tone that it almost appears black in some lighting. I love a good vampy holo nail polish and this one foots the bill. The shimmer makes it totally unique and the holo glows in such a beautiful way. Two coats of perfection.
KBShimmer All Fired Up is a black to pale gray thermal polish with color-shifting metallic flakes in hues of burning red to sizzling orange, to warm yellow. Accented by a magical red to green shimmer. I love the thermal transition on this one! I am wearing three coats plus top coat but two would have been enough. I love the flakes in this and it looks amazing in both states and especially as it's transitioning. The dark is the cold state.
