Red Carpet Polish Pickup November 2020 Swatches & Review

Provided for review
Who doesn't love watching people walk down a red carpet? I have always been fascinated by fashion and you always get a good taste of that from celebrities walking down a red carpet. I'm particularly fond of the Met Gala for red carpet looks. For the November Polish Pickup, the theme is Red Carpet... if you couldn't already tell! The participating brands took iconic looks and translated them into nail polish and a myriad of other products.
I have a special treat for your eyes with this month's creations. I mean, the polishes I share each month are beautiful but the elegance, opulence and decadence of these four polishes is off the charts for November. If you would like to see how these polishes apply in real time, visit the Streets Ahead Style YouTube channel for my live swatch and review video. Or, read on to see more photos and thoughts.
Come on and check out the beautiful live swatches of these magical polishes on my YouTube channel. It's super fun - I promise!
Girly Bits Queen of the Dark ($13 USD | 15 mL | 3 coats or 1 coat as topper | capped at 250 bottles sold) is a super shifty ultra-chrome flake beauty in honour of the amazing dress worn flawlessly by Nyakim Gatwech (who goes by Queen of Dark), at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2018. It is densely packed with fuchsia to chartreuse flakes that also flash with hints of lime and blue at extreme angles. It’s finished off with a red to gold shifting shimmer and just a hint of tiny holo flakes. It is best in three coats, and gives the look of full coverage due to the amount of reflective particles in it, even though it’s in an un-tinted base. It can also be used as a topper if applied with a light hand.
My Indie Polish Envious Glare ($13 USD | 15 mL | 3 coats | capped at 75 bottles sold) is a squishy kelly green jelly loaded with five kinds of holographic silver glitters. Some of the glitters look gold to the eye which is a really beautiful effect. Tanya's polish wasn’t so much inspired by a picture of a red carpet look so much as a nail polish interpretation of the “if looks could kill type of glare” going on at award shows and being green with envy. This polish is super duper sparkly. While this is loaded with glitters, it applies smoothly and one layer of top coat took care of any texture. This green is bright and beautiful for any time of year!
Paint It Pretty Polish Get This Party Started ($12 USD | 15 mL | 2 coats | capped at 90 US bottles sold and 10 UK) is a pink to blue to purple tri-thermal nail polish with a shifting shimmer, ultra chameleon chrome flakes and crystal chameleon flakes. Sherri was inspired by the dress P!nk wore to the 2018 Grammys. Hnnnnnnngggg... I love love love love love love love this nail polish. I had to wear it for a full manicure after swatching it. I love it hot, cold and in between. This is my top pick from the polishes I swatched for November. I hate to play favourites but this polish blew me away. It's absolutely stunning and if you Google P!nk's dress from the 2018 Grammy, you will see how well the polish matches the inspiration.

Treo Lacquer I Don't Give A Grunge ($12 USD | 15 mL | 2 coats | capped at 145 US shop and 15 UK shop) is a denim blue to neutral thermal filled with a mix of black and white glitter. This polish is inspired by the 90s Grunge trend of walking the red carpet in jeans. Who could forget the iconic denim looks we've seen on red carpets over the years? Those were the days! This was my first time trying Treo Lacquer and I am very impressed. Treo Lacquer is a Canadian brand based on the East Coast. The polish applied evenly given how jam packed it is with glitter. The thermal transitioned nicely between the hot and cold states. It smoothed nicely with two coats of top coat and it will be hard to remove because of the glitters.
