January 2021 Birthstones, Gems and Minerals Polish Pickup Swatches & Review

 Provided for review

I can't believe we almost made it through the year. I am struggling with the people who are making it sound as if when the clock strikes midnight on January 1, 2021 all the troubles of 2020 will disappear. Yes, 2021 will be a new year but I am not certain it will be that much easier. I can only hope but we still need to be smart, wear masks, keep distance and practice good hand hygiene and get the vaccine when we can.

Anyway, let's talk about the Polish Pickup. The January theme is Birthstones, Gems and Minerals. A similar theme was done a couple of year ago but who doesn't love gems and birthstones and sparkly things form the Earth? I am back to my regularly scheduled Polish Pickup offerings from some of the Canadian brands that will be available in the January Polish Pickup. I have a live swatch video on my YouTube channel for those who want to see how these polishes apply in real time. These polishes will be on sale January 1 through midnight EST on January 4, 2021.

Would you like to see how some of these polishes looks on skin tones other than mine? Check out:

Girly Bits The World's Smallest Violane swatch

Girly Bits The World's Smallest Violane ($13 USD | 15 mL | 2 coats | 250 US cap, 25 UK cap) is pale icy blue holo with a teal to violet shifting sheen and small silver metallic flecks. What a great polish for Winter! Smooth and opaque application in just two coats. It shifts depending on the light and those little silver metallic flecks are really tiny and cute. This is a great Girly Bits polish with the formula you would expect. This polish also has a paddle brush which makes application so easy.

Inspiration for Girly Bits The World's Smallest Violane: Hailing from Khakassia (Pronounced: Hak-kas-ee-a) in Russia’s remote Eastern-Siberian Region, Violane is named for its beautiful blend of the hues seen in our Earth’s wide blue yonder. The rarest member of the Diopside family, Violane is extremely geologically scarce, and accordingly, hardly ever seen in the international gemstone marketplace. Violane is a colorful mottled fusion of heavenly hues; sky and swiss azures, divine violets, and ethereal whites, with a sparkly, silky luster.

Paint It Pretty Polish Soothe and Calm swatch

Paint It Pretty Polish Soothe and Calm ($12 USD | 15 mL | 3 coats | cap of 100 US and 10 UK) is a shifty shimmery medium baby blue with pink iridescent shifting flakes and a pinch of holo micro flakes. I applied this in three thin coats. It has a wonderful formula and builds up beautifully in no time!

Treo Lacquer Chalcopyrite swatch

Treo Lacquer Chalcopyrite ($13 USD | 15 mL | 2 coats | cap of 145 USD and 15 UK) is a very shimmery white base filled with a mix of ultrachrome flakies. Amanda was inspired by a beautiful specimen of crystals on a Dolomite base. This mineral increases your perceptive abilities, breaks up energy blockages and can open up and cleanse the Crown Chakra. It makes an excellent meditation stone. I was able to get this fully opaque in just two coats. The formula was excellent! Really smooth and super sparkly and magical. It's a great winter polish.
