Provided for review

We made it to March! Let's celebrate by looking at two beautiful nail polishes created by Girly Bits for two different nail polish collaboration shops. I've got Girly Bits' polish for the March edition of their Hella Handmade Creations Canadian Road Trip series as well as a polish created for a brand new nail polish collaboration... Project Artistry!

Project Artistry is a monthly collaboration where multiple indie makers are split into two teams and create items around the two opposing themes of the month. The first sale is taking place from March 23-27. Every month, the teams will battle it out to determine the winning theme. The theme with the most items sold will "win" that month, and have a chance for their winning polishes to come back for sale again. After New Year, a poll with all the winning themes of the previous year will be posted. You all will decide what two themes you want to see battle it out in a final duel in March 2022. Makers will be split into teams and create a new item for their assigned theme.

Which theme will win it all? Let the battle begin! And let's get into the swatches for Project Artistry and Hella Handmade Creations. I will also have a video review and live swatch application video of these polishes on the Streets Ahead Style YouTube channel in a few days.

Let's start with the Project Artistry polish that Girly Bits has made. Project Artistry is a new multi-brand monthly collaboration hosted by Saki Cosmetics, featuring indie brands from both Canada and the US. The March pre-order will be from March 23 at 7pm Eastern through March 27th at 7pm Eastern. You will be able to shop from multiple brands all on one website, and pay a single flat rate shipping fee of $5 USD. All products are exclusive to Project Artistry, and only available during the five day pre-order window. Multiple orders placed during the sale window will be automatically combined, and shipping overage will be refunded. Your full order will be shipped to you from the Project Artistry Headquarters (not from the individual brands) about four weeks from the close of the sale.

Girly Bits Give Me Shelter swatch Project Artistry

Girly Bits Give Me Shelter ($13 USD | 15 mL| 100 bottle cap) is stuffed with blue-violet-purple multi-chrome flakes, blue/violet colour shifting shimmer, and holographic pigment. This nail polish is sparkly and shifty. The formula is very smooth and easy to work with. I applied three coats for full opacity and top coat to help smooth it all out. A wonderful formula and beautiful finish!

And now for the Hella Handmade Creations polish for March 2021... presenting Chateauesque.

Girly Bits Chateauesque swatch

Girly Bits Chateauesque ($13 USD | 275 bottles available) is a sheer periwinkle base packed with colour shifting iridescent flakes, colour shifting shimmer, and small metallic gold flakes. This polish is part of the Canadian Road Trip Series and it is inspired by Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in Quebec. Another beautiful nail polish - this one built up nicely in three coats but it isn't totally opaque (which is intentional). I show it below layered over Girly Bits Purple Heyyys on my thumb. I also show it with a matte top coat which really makes the flakies pop!

This nail polish will be available from March 14-21 in the Hella Handmade Creations shop as a pre-order. You can read more about HHC in their FAQs.
