Yay! Valentine's Day nail polishes! As you know, I am a big fan of Valentine's Day and BLUSH Lacquers therefore this is an extra fun blog post. Victoria of BLUSH Lacquers has created The Lovers Duo inspired by Cathy and Heathcliff's profound yet tempestuous relationship in the novel Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. The polishes are named after two of Victoria's favorite lines from the novel (shortened, of course to fit on the bottle labels):
From Cathy: "He's more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same."
From Heathcliff: "I fought through a bitter life since I last heard your voice, and you must forgive me, for I struggled only for you."
This duo is so dramatic for Valentine's Day which makes me love it even more. And if you're the kind of person who doesn't love all the pink and red associated with the day then this duo might just be perfect for you. I've got lots more photos and a review, if you're interested in seeing more.
BLUSH Lacquers Whatever Our Souls Are Made Of is an ethereal sandy beige base with a glowing green to a ghostly whitish-blue to red-violet shifting shimmer, holographic pigment and holographic flakes. In my photos I am wearing three thin coats plus top coat. This has a beautiful self-leveling formula and it would look amazing in one or two coats for a more sheer effect. This shift is very obvious with this and you can see it in one of the photos below. The green and purple are very obvious. It is absolutely stunning! Very elegant for Valentine's Day.
BLUSH Lacquers I Struggled Only For You is a dark, brooding charcoal grey nearing black nail polish with fiery flecks of red to orange to gold shifting multi-chrome flakes, holographic pigment and holographic flakes. I am wearing three thin coats as well for this polish. The formula is also excellent. The holo is jumping off the nail and the flakes are still very visible. I love when a polish manages to keep all the elements visible even when it has so much going on. My emo heart is very happy with this one.
