I'm really enjoying Paint It Pretty Polish's Pretty Polish of the Month series inspired by birthstones. If you've been following along, you'll know the series started back in October with opal and now we are in February with an amethyst-inspired nail polish. My sister has fallen into a circle of folks at her workplace who are into essential oils and crystals so this post is in honour of her as amethyst is a stone of spiritual protection and purification. This stone is believed to be capable of cleansing one's energy field of negative influences and attachments. It can't hurt, right?
Paint It Pretty Purple Amethyst is inspired by February's birthstone. This polish features a purple base filled with shifting flakes, violet microflakes and holographic microflakes. I am wearing three thin coats plus top coat. This one builds up very nicely and the formula is smooth and easy to work with. I love a good purple polish and this polish, my friends, falls into that category. Just look at that macro shot below! You can see all the flake goodness.
As a matter of fact, the more I read about amethyst the more I think I should carry some stones around in my pocket. Or, perhaps, wear this nail polish every day.
