My Indie Polish, an OG Canadian indie nail polish brand that I'm sure you've seen before on my blog, is re-promoting some of their core collection nail polishes. First up is My Indie Polish Rat Rod Paint Job: a matte black nail polish.

My Indie Polish Rat Rod Paint Job is a matte black creme nail polish that applies in one coat and doubles as a stamping polish. This one does dry to a matte finish but I always prefer glossy polish, as you know if you follow my blog. You can see it in the first photo in its "natural" finish in two coats. I did find this polish a bit thick in formulation so while it could work as a one coat, it didn't apply as evenly as I hoped so I ended up putting on two coats. With a matte finish, application is really important if you're not applying a top coat so I would recommend that you apply this carefully if you intend to wear it matte. Also, be careful with application because this one sticks to the skin. It didn't stain but when it got on my cuticle, it was hard to get it off after application. The polish has a high pigment load to make it super black (which it is) so it's worth it in the end.

Black matte polishes are super cool. Very rock star. My Indie Polish Rat Rod Paint Job is a great option if you're looking for a nice matte black without the extra step of applying a matte top coat. This baby is all-in-one.
