Where are my August babies? I've got a treat for you today! My sister is an August baby and she has already made plans to wear today's polish on her birthday. Gem of the Sun is Paint It Pretty Polish's Pretty Polish of the Month for August and it's inspired by none other than peridot. Ancient Egyptians knew it as “the gem of the sun,” hence the name of the polish.

According to FireMountainGems.com, Peridot is "known as the stone of compassion[...] peridot is believed to bring good health, restful sleep and peace to relationships by balancing emotions and mind. This friendly bright green stone also has the uncanny ability to inspire eloquence and creativity; it also brings delight and good cheer. It attracts love and calms anger by giving renewal to all things."

Gem of the Sun will be available in the Paint It Pretty Polish shop from August 1 to September 1 so if you love it, make sure you grab it since it's a limited edition polish as are all the Pretty Polishes of the Month.

Paint It Pretty Polish Gem of the Sun ($11.00 CAD | 15 mL | 2 coats) is a yellow to green shimmery topper with shifting chameleon flakes with holo sparkle. While this polish is described as a topper I was able to get it quite opaque in two coats. I absolutely love how it looks on the nail. You know I love those delicate and ethereal nail polishes, well this polish is it!

Paint It Pretty Polish Gem of the Sun is also 5-free, cruelty free and made in Canada. The brand is woman-owned by Sherri. I can't say enough good things about this nail polish. I might try it in the future as a topper but over a white jelly. I love how it looks so much and those gold flakes are so elegant.
