As someone with short nails, it can be a challenge to capture both the cold and warm state of a nail polish on my nails but know that these polishes transition beautifully and vividly. Paint It Pretty Polish Scare ($11 CAD | 15 mL | 2 coats) is an orange-leaning red to brown thermal polish with yellow/orange/green iridescent shifting flakes. Wow! This polish is absolutely stunning. Between the flakes and the two gorgeous phases for this thermal, I am smitten. It reminds me of a spooky scarecrow that followed me around the Canada's Wonderland Haunt several years ago. Aside from being able to ride one of the world's tallest roller coasters in the dead cold of night, I had my eyes closed the entire time I was there. But this polish is perfection and I can't wait to wear it again before Halloween.
Paint It Pretty Polish Scream ($11 CAD | 15 mL | 2 coats) is a tri-thermal that changed from yellow (hot) to orange (cool/my body temp) to red (cold) with orange/yellow iridescent shifting flakes. With my short nails, I could not for the life of me get all three phases of this polish to show. But, on the nail, you can see the red, yellow and orange! Sometimes all at once especially if you have a longer free edge to your nail. Can you say candy corn in a bottle? Honestly, I wanted to eat my nails. Yes, I like candy corn. Don't @ me. I also love love love this nail polish. Such a smooth and easy to work with formula.
Paint It Pretty Polish Startle ($11 CAD | 15 mL | 3 coats) is a blue (warm) to purple (cold) thermal with a red/gold/green shimmer with purple to gold and bronze to gold shifting flakes. Last but not least. This polish is jaw-droppingly gorgeous. And perfect for all year long. The flakes and shimmer are just delicious. This polish reminds me of a fall sunset over a golden field. And hey, as I'm typing this, Neil Young's Harvest Moon just started playing. I love Neil Young! And I love this polish.
