Just before the stroke of midnight, I have the Girly Bits June 2017 CoTM. I purchased these myself at Indie Expo Canada but today (June 30) is the last day to buy the duo on the Girly Bits website (you have until 11:59 PM EST) so I am hustling to show the 5 of you that read my blog in case these are your speed.
To go along with the Indie Expo theme, the CoTM duo represent two extremes of sentiment that I imagine Pam went through leading up to and during IEC: What the Hell Was I Thinking? and Let's Do This Again!
The first of the pair that I'm showing is What the Hell Was I Thinking?: a predominantly berry leaning with a pink to gold shift and a generous helping of holo micro flakes.
Secondly is Let's Do This Again!: a very light chartreuse holo with a prominent pink shimmer.
What the Hell Was I Thinking? is breathtaking. The application is effortless and the colour payoff is stunning. I love berry shades like this but the shift really sets it apart from anything else I have ever seen. I am wearing two easy coats and I actually don't have top coat on in these photos. It's so smooth and shiny on its own.
Let's Do This Again! just makes me happy. It's so light, it's almost neutral but the pink shimmer, again, sets is apart. This is very complex and it changes quite dramatically in different lighting. I am wearing three thin coats and top coat in the photos. Another effortless application but it does require 3 coats in my opinion.
I really love how well is duo plays together especially with the theme and names. Every month, Girly Bits creates must have CoTM polishes. I honestly can't skip them anymore because I always end up with regret. It's real. So now I make sure I save my pennies and grab the duo. I'm still looking for Goblin It Up from the October 2016 CoTM duo... if anyone sees it for sale, TAG ME!
What the Hell Was I Thinking? is so vampy but it's the perfect summertime vamp shade because of the brightness and shimmer. I think you understand what I mean, right? It's like a hot tropical night on your nails. A tropical sunset with twinkling stars. This is like the pinnacle of polish making right here so you need this polish if you're only going to get one from the duo make it What the Hell Was I Thinking?
You can see both lacquers in the shade here and I love how glowy they both are. Let's Do This Again! takes on a metallic look but the shimmer still pops which is why it's so fantastic. And, in the shade, the flakies really stand out in What the Hell Was I Thinking?
I have included far too many pictures of these polishes but I really could NOT restrain myself. I took 5 times as many as I'm sharing on the blog. It was relatively easy to capture all the shifts and shimmers in this duo but I tend to overshare when I'm excited and this duo really does excite me.
There's a chance this duo will show up on Harlow & Co. but play it safe and order from Girly Bits before midnight EST! I assumed Harlow would get the October 2016 CoTMs and ended up missing Goblin It Up so don't make my mistake.
My nails are also getting too long (yes, roll your eyes) so they will be back to their usual cutie length soon but most times I am posting out of order and it's not a noticeable difference. It's just my own discomfort with long nails even though I used to have REALLY long nails (check the archives in early 2014). I don't know how I lived and also how they didn't break.
