Girly Bits is setting a dangerous precedent. For the January Polish Pickup and once again for February's, Pam has created a glitter globe pen to match with the nail polish she's created. I'm going to start expecting to own a pen to match every nail polish I own. Who doesn't want their nails to match their glittery pen? I've always been obsessed with pens (super weird - don't judge me) and, obviously, nail polish so this is very much up my alley. I'm not at all complaining. The pen has a perfect weight and the glitter in the top part is a custom mix Pam created just for Polish Pickup. Girly Bits Fireweed ($13 USD | 15 mL | no cap) is a beautiful pastel fuchsia shade that straddles pink and purple. It features a mesmerizing shift that travels from aqua to fuchsia and is laced with aqua-blue-green-pink iridescent flakes and holo micro flakes. I took inspiration from the magic and wonder of Banff National Park, Canada. It's filled with beautiful lakes of aqua and turquoise, majestic mountains, and acres upon acres of wildflowers and wildlife. I was inspired specifically by this image of fireweed by Lake Louise, which is where one of my daughters currently lives and works as a concierge. Fireweed is often the first plant life to grow after the devastation of wildfires and it has been used for years by First Nations people to treat burns and other skin conditions because of its anti-inflammatory properties.
Girly Bits Fireweed Glitter Globe Pen ($7.50 USD | 100 cap) is a glitter globe pen that pairs perfectly with Fireweed. It features a rainbow/multi-chrome barrel, silver hardware, and contains a custom mix of aquatic iridescent glitter in pink, aqua and purple that float in the clear top half of the barrel. It is nicely weighted in your hand, and has smooth flowing black ink. The ink cartridge is replaceable making this pen more eco-friendly than most disposable pens. This pen writes beautifully and smoothly. I get mesmerized by the glitters and it makes me happy when I'm writing. It's my kind of glitter mix and it pairs perfectly with the Fireweed nail polish. Each month, The Pickups will bring you a variety of polishes and handmade items from indie makers based on a theme chosen by customers. The Pickups are live the first Friday at 11 AM EST of each month and the shop stays open for four days through the following Monday at Midnight EST. The polishes and items are exclusive to The Pickups for each month.
All products are pre-ordered (capped or uncapped) and will ship a minimum of 3 weeks after sale commencement. The Pickups ship for a flat fee of $3 in the US and $5 to Canada. Shipping to European countries is available through The Pickups UK website. The Pickups will combine orders placed over the four day sale period. This will happen automatically when shipping begins and you will then receive your shipping overage refunds.
