I'm coming at you today with swatches of some Great Lakes Lacquer that I borrowed from my nail friend, Laura (follow her on Instagram @mamasmadskills!). I have had two or three of my own GLL's that have been sitting in my untried drawer for far too long. I decided it was time to change that and wear those along with the ones I borrowed from Laura. I have live swatches of these polishes on my YouTube channel now if you want to see these beautiful polishes in action. Overall, the Great Lakes Lacquer formula is amazing. I was able to achieve opacity for all of these polishes in just two coats! They all applied beautifully and dried quickly. I'm so excited to share that all GLL polishes will now come with paddle brushes which will make these polishes even more perfect.

Let's check out the polishes and please check out my live swatches on YouTube to see these pretty polishes in action.
Great Lakes Lacquer Freeze All Motor Functions ($13 USD | 15 mL | 2 coats) is a white base with multichrome flake shifting from teal, blue, purple, magenta and orange and a shimmer that flows through teal, blue, and purple. This one I got a little to over zealous with and the flakes went on a little too thick as you can see on my index and middle fingers. But, rest assured the formula is excellent and you want this to dry fully between coats.
Great Lakes Lacquer Tend Your Grass ($13 USD | 15 mL | 2 coats) is a spring kelly green stuffed with a magenta to red to lime green shifting aurora shimmer. Soooo shimmery!
Great Lakes Lacquer Making Peace with Past Indiscretions ($13 USD | 15 mL | 2 coats) is an emerald green multichrome with shifts of purple, magenta, red, orange, gold, and green finished with a soft linear holographic. My photos make this look so green but it really shows that purple shift in indirect lighting.
Great Lakes Lacquer I'm Well Off My Knees ($13 USD | 15 mL | 2 coats) is a white base filled with a multichrome flake that shifts from magenta, gold, green, and aqua and pink to green to gold shifting aurora shimmer.
Great Lakes Lacquer Take My Heart When You Go. Take Mine In Its Place ($13 USD | 15 mL | 2 coats) is a peachy base with a strong linear holographic finish, filled with a magenta to gold to green shifting aurora shimmer. This one works perfectly as a mannequin nail polish for me. It's my perfect nude!
Great Lakes Lacquer Time To Write My Own F*cking Story ($13 USD | 15 mL | 2 coats) is a fiery red multichrome with highlights of magenta, orange, and gold. F*ck yeah... this polish is awesome! So fiery. Again the direct lighting shows red but the magenta and orange and gold are there.
Great Lakes Lacquer These Violent Delights Have Violent Ends ($13 USD | 15 mL | 2 coats) is a violet brimming with orange to gold to green shifting iridescent flake. This is probably my favorite of all the polishes in this post. That purple, the formula and the flakes!
The following two nail polishes from Great Lakes Lacquer are no longer available for sale on the GLL website but since they're so beautiful, I thought I would share them anyway.
Great Lakes Lacquer It Doesn't Look Like Anything To Me was a special GWP from the Westworld Collection during their Black Friday sale. It Doesn't Look Like Anything To Me is a slate blue-grey creme with strong red to orange to gold multichrome shimmer mixed in. This is another incredibly shifty polish that looks a bit lavender in some lighting and grey in others.
Great Lakes Lacquer Nature's Bouquet (15 mL | thermal | 2 coats) is a lavender to sky blue to light baby pink tri-thermal accented with hot pink to aqua shifting aurora shimmer. Sadly, it seems that the thermal in this one died. Queen of Nails 83 has an incredible swatch that shows the tri-thermal aspect of this polish. You can view it here.
Have you ever tried Great Lakes Lacquer? I am definitely interested to try more. Let me know which are some of your favourites if you've tried the brand before!
