Summer nail polishes always put a smile on my face. I'm an emo kind of person with a love for bright colours. My Indie Polish feels me on this and that's why I love her nail polishes so much. The polishes I am sharing today are so much fun with a variety of colours and glitters. And I haven't seen heart glitters in a loooong time but it's so nice to see them here. The first three polishes are part of a summer trio named by Melissa Burton of My Lacquer Cabinet and she chose Mario Kart-inspired names. If you're looking to see these polishes on a different skin tone than mine, check out @Your.Girl.Vee (Vamica) for more awesome swatches of these polishes.
The trio is available now on the My Indie Polish website along with My Indie Polish Sc-Fi, My Indie Polish Pool Da and My Indie Poilsh Holy F**k. Grab the Summer trio for $36 CAD here. All of these polishes are small batch releases so grab them if you like them as they won't be around forever!
Check out my live swatches of these My Indie Polish nail polishes:
My Indie Polish Koopa Troopa Beach ($13 CAD | 15 mL | 2 coats) is a mint green creme filled with complimentary pastel glitters of various shapes and sizes including fuchsia shreds. This polish has a nice, thick formula and it built up well in two coats to full opacity. The base is a bit thicker but I was able to easily see the glitters and they were plentiful! They came out easily and without any extra effort.
My Indie Polish Peach Road ($13 CAD | 15 mL | 3 coats) is a peach crelly with primary coloured glitters in various shapes and sizes. Compared to the prior minty polish, this one is has a thinner base and the glitters are suspended loosely so I had to do a little more fishing for them but it wasn't difficult. I love the juxtaposition of the primary-coloured glitters and the soft, peachy base.
My Indie Polish Rainbow Road ($13 CAD | 15 mL | 3 coats) is a coconut white jelly base with green, yellow, blue and red glitters of various shapes and sizes though the stars in particular really stand out. This base is the thinnest of the previous three. On the first coat, it almost doesn't look like it's on your nail but it builds up well in three coats and there are lots of glitters but because of the thin base, I had to do some fishing to get glitters and place them on my nail. Again, not difficult but this isn't a polish you just brush on from the bottle unless you want only two or three glitters per nail.
My Indie Polish Pool Day ($13 CAD | 15 mL | 3 coats) is a blue (cold) to almost white (warm) thermal with an assortment of neon glitters, including stars and hearts. I love this polish! It's so cute and summery. The base colour definitely looks like a pool and the heart and star neon glitters are like pool noodles. It applied nicely and the base wasn't too thin. I was able to get the glitters without too much fishing. Just a little placement for the heart and stars.
My Indie Polish Sci-Fi ($13 CAD | 15 mL | 2 coats) is a dusty medium purple with colour-shifting flakies, holographic kiss and blue shimmer. This one was great in two coats and the formula was really buttery and smooth. I love the teeny tiny flakes in this one so much!
My Indie Polish Holy F**k ($13 CAD | 15 mL | 2 coats) is a neon coral that leans hot pink with pink shimmer. This one is super neon and bright with a really creamy formula. I was able to get it opaque in two coats. As with all neons, this polish was so hard to capture on camera. I tried my best to edit to get it close to real life but be warned you need to see it to believe it!
Are you loving these summery polishes? Will you be grabbing any to decorate your nails during these hot, sunny months?
